Youth Council for BCYW Miranda House Chapter, New Delhi, India
Miranda House, the leading women’s college at Delhi University, has launched a Youth Chapter of the Breast Cancer in Young Women (BCYW) Foundation, USA, on November 12, 2025. The purpose of the chapter is to raise awareness about breast health and promote preventive education among young women in India. https://www.einpresswire.com/article/870496118/
The launch of the BCYW Youth Chapter comes at a vital time. Breast cancer remains the leading cancer among women of all ages, and WHO data project a significant increase in cases among Indian women under 40 by 2040. The projected average age of diagnosis—33.73 years by 2040 for India—indicates that today’s 18- and 19-year-olds will be the women at risk in the future.
The BCYW campus chapters organize activities throughout the year, including peer-led discussions, awareness campaigns, and self-care advocacy, extending their efforts beyond “Pink October.” YCBH local chapters aim to empower young women with essential knowledge and tools for prevention, early detection, and risk reduction. In turn, early empowerment can have a lasting positive impact on women’s health and well-being.
