About the chapter

Colonel Mayank Chaubey (Retd) served the Indian Army with distinction for over 30 years, including key diplomatic assignments with the Ministry of External Affairs. Continuing his commitment to public service, Colonel Chaubey has now undertaken a pioneering initiative to advance the core mission of the Breast Cancer in Young Women Foundation. This program aims to raise targeted awareness of breast health and early detection of breast cancer among young women—particularly within the families of serving personnel and veterans. The initiative was formally inaugurated on July 18, 2025, at the Uttarakhand Sub-Area Military Station in India. On July 18, 2025, the BCYW Foundation organized a BCYW Awareness event at the Uttarakhand Sub-Area Military Station under Colonel Chaubey’s leadership.

Dr. Kirti Agnihotri Misra, MS (Neurosurgery), PhD, is a neurosurgeon with over 25 years of experience. She served in war zones with the United Nations Peacekeeping Forces, performing complex brain surgeries under extreme conditions. A survivor of endometrial cancer, she advocates a holistic approach to healing, grounded in timely screenings, lifestyle change, and food as medicine.
